5 Best Japanese Drama For Beginners | Romantic Comedy JDrama
Here is a list of 5 binge-worthy J-dramas for your consideration. These are Jdramas I recommend you start with because for me if from the start I don't enjoy a drama from a culture other than Korean then I might just give up on watching any dramas from that specific culture. In other words I want you guys to enjoy Jdramas from the start. Also most of these dramas are old but better start with the classics then modern. So please don't put aside a drama because its 10 years old , it doesn't change how good it is.
Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo
At a high school entrance ceremony, Kotoko Aihara, who isn't that smart, notices pretty boy Naoki Irie. She falls in love with him immediately. Kotoko initially doesn't express her feelings to him, but finally has a chance to tell him how she feels. Unfortunately, Naoki turns Kotoko down, saying "I don't like dumb women". One day, Kotoko Aihara's house is severely damaged by an earthquake. Until the house is rebuilt, Kotoko Aihara and her father decide to live with her father's friend. When Kotoko Aihara moves to her new temporary house, she is surprised to learn that Naoki Irie lives there as well.
1 Litre of Tears
15-year-old Ikeuchi Aya is an ordinary girl, the daughter of a family who works at a tofu shop, and a soon-to-be high schooler. However, odd things have been happening to Aya lately. She has been falling down often and walks strange. Her mother, Shioka, takes Aya to see the doctor, and he informs Shioka that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration - a terrible disease where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates tothe point where the victim cannot walk, speak, write, or eat.
Densha Otoko
The plot follows the life of Yamada after a chance encounter with Saori, when he rescues her from a drunken man on the train. Saori sends him a set of Hermès tea cups as a thank you gift. Relying on advice from users on a website, he is able to find the courage to change and eventually confess his feelings to Saori.
The drama is filled with various dream sequences in which the characters use to portray their fantasies.
Orange Days
Yuuki Kai is a senior at a university studying social welfare psychology and trying to find a job. One day, he encounters a girl, Hagio Sae, playing the violin, and becomes intrigued. He eventually discovers that she has lost her hearing, and can now only communicate using Japanese Sign Language. Before they reveal what they think about each other, Sae and Kai must overcome a lot of barriers. They both become stronger along the way, finding their goals.
Zettai Kareshi
Riiko Izawa is an office lady in search of a boyfriend, and she ends up in possession of a "robot" known as Night Tenjo, who is programmed to be the perfect boyfriend. However, this creates a love triangle with a distinguished young man at her company who also has feelings for her. Riiko is played by Saki Aibu, Night is played by Mokomichi Hayami, and Soshi Asamoto is played by Hiro Mizushima.
